Description
Third cake display stand - this time kind of glamour design with silk glossy touches, model done in Fusion360 inspired by some ready to buy products - I tired to design something sturdy and less material demanding at the same time (feel free to add some negative parts in the slicer if you feel like reducing the volume more). If someone owns a patent for that kind of design please let me know - I will then delete the print profile from MW.
Model is multipart with 0.4mm different in diamater of leg and body connection parts - you can scale up/down if you want a tighter fit (do it at your own risk). The golden border for the plate is with no tolerance and may require some deburring depending on orientation which you opt for - for my test print I decided to have textured surface and used support and deburred for better fit.
Tested with some weight on top without glueing, I encourage to use different kinds of infill because it is visible under the light and produces cool effect. Be careful with using plastic with foods - although PLA is considered safe it is a porous material and remainings of food may produce bacteria. Be sure to keep it clean if you put your food on it directly - I advise to rather use some kind of cardboard plate below the cake.
