Description

Well Sunday 11th February 2024 is not too far away so I thought I would try to design a print a replica of the NFL Super Bowl Vince Lombardi Trophy.

I designed the trophy with Fusion 360 but unfortunately the program locked up and I lost everything, but luckily I had already saved the 3 Components to print….Phew!

A tricky trophy to make, plenty of angles and how the ball sits on top of the podium, the ball was a bit difficult as well and how would it print, I tried it in 2 halves, but I opted to print in one piece in the end, it turned out ok but someone with more set up knowledge could do a lot better, the only thing I will say when printing with the Bambu Gold and Silver Silks is to slow the outer wall speed down and set the hot end to 230 degrees, it gives the filament a better sheen.

I didn't print all the components together as in the profile, I printed as individual components, the ball prints as is with no supports, like I said earlier it came out ok.

The Ball was secured in place with Super Glue as was the NFL Emblem.

Very nice Trophy. Everybody down below in the comments who failed this to print should look for another hobby. Printed the ball with minimum support on a textured Plate, Bambu X1C with Bambu Sparkle PLA. The Stand is marmor PLA from Sunlu. Ball can be attached easily on the Stand with glue. Thank you very much, you made an 8year old boy very happy.

Hi, many thanks for your nice comments, my model came out great as well just with standard settings on the X1, it’s just how it goes really with how someone prints it, I very rarely go away from standard settings and if I do it’s after having looked at the Bambu recommendations for the material I’m using. Glad your boy is happy!

What could have happened here? Has anyone else experienced this? The outer wall first shifted these markings

Hello, I'm not entirely sure what happened with your print. Upon printing the first model, I did not receive the wall markings. Perhaps it's a printer calibration issue. I always calibrate before each print

Hi Yeah I here you, but with the ball being Gold and the height its impossible to print in place, might be worth a design re-visit sometime, there my be a better way of securing the ball to the lower part, thanks for the comment and downloading.
