Amethyst Half-Geode model. Made this for the Geology/Geography contest with the intent on printing it with multiple colors to show the different mineral layers as shown in the model-space picture (for example I wanted to use translucent filament for the crystals). Unfortunately, I did not have the time, funds, or proper filament to achieve that, so I instead printed a mono-colored version that can be painted after printing. I will upload the painted version when it's finished!

- 0.16mm layer height
- 15% gyroid infill
- Supports:
- Tree (auto) slim, hollow
- 30-degree threshold angle
- 0.25 top z distance, 0.2mm bottom
- (3) top interface layers, (2) bottom
- 0.7mm top interface spacing, 0.5mm bottom
- 5mm branch distance, 2mm diameter
- 45-degree branch angle
Even with these support settings, it still took some time removing all of the supports. Considering the complexity of the model though, I was very pleased with the result. Feel free to tweak the support settings for potentially better results.
