Description

Boost Me (for free)

As with all designers, I like to be appreciated for my work and would love to earn Makerworld points from your boost.  Please boost if you feel this model deserves it!

This is an easily printable torch style wall sconce to use with one of the LED “Flame” bulbs as seen in the photos.

I saw a post similar to this, where the creator had designed a similar torch for his D&D gaming room, but it was all print in place, and I dislike wasting material - additionally, the pieces were too thick for my liking, so I redesigned it to be easily assembled with a little glue and to be able to print without supports.  This was designed for very specific parts that I bought from Amazon, which I have linked below.  Also, please know that I'm using affiliate links, so I may get a small commission if you purchase any of these items using my links.

All parts are 2 walls, 3 bottom layers, 4 top layers, and 15% cubic infill.  I have uploaded a profile for a 0.4mm nozzle and .2mm layer height, but it prints very nicely at .28mm layer height as well, and saves a significant amount of time when printing, especially if you're going to paint any of these parts.

There is also a diffusion shade that is included, called “Glass”, that will need to be downloaded individually and printed in VASE mode with no top or bottom layers - this is where I used the “Funfetti PLA” in the parts list below.

Some things to know:

1>  You can choose to print the “Base - combined” as a single combined unit if you'd like. However, I painted my ‘metal’ pieces with a hammered dark bronze paint, and didn't want to have to mask off the wood section, so I provided these as split parts.  If you want to paint your ‘metal’ parts as well, use the 2 separate pieces, “Base - Wood” and “Base - Metal” instead, and assemble after painting.

2>  Either “wall mount” can be printed without supports.  DO NOT ASSEMBLE these parts until you've run the lamp cord through, as the switch in the cord will NOT fit after the pieces are glued together. This is mentioned in the assembly instructions PDF as well.

3>  The rings are designed so the open side of the slot is down, but it should look and work fine either orientation.

4>  The instructions assume you're using the plastic welding glue linked below - it will draw into close joints via capillary action, so applying glue to the surfaces before assembly is not required, but contact between the two pieces IS.

THERE IS ALSO A MODEL FOR A VASE-MODE PRINTED ‘GLASS SHADE’ for this item, listed separately (due to vase mode) at https://makerworld.com/en/models/1147773#profileId-1151418
