TriTone Slider Whistle

The TriTone Slider Whistle is a take on the basic slide whistle, letting you bend notes and create playful melodies with ease. The  sliding piston action gives you full pitch control, and the added three-hole variant allows for even more sound experimentation! 

There are two types of piston heads available: one designed to fit standard 1.75d filament and another that accommodates an M2x14mm metal dowel. If the fit feels too loose in the shaft, tighter tolerance variants are also included for a more secure assembly.

The TriTone Slider Whistle shares the same body design as my ModueFlute, making all attachments fully interchangeable between the two. Mix and match to create unique sounds!

I use the Bambu Smooth PEI plate with some glue and upped the bed temperature to 60c to make sure the flute stuck to the plate while printing. 

Assembly:

1. Slide the end cap onto the shaft, ensuring the flat side faces the ring.

    

2. Insert the shaft into the piston head, aligning the holes.

    

3. Insert a piece of filament through the piston head and shaft, then trim it flush with the surface. Alternatively, if using the dowel-compatible piston head, secure it with an M2x14 dowel instead.

    

   

    

   

    

4. Insert the assembled piston into the whistle body, then screw the end cap onto the threaded end of the whistle.

   

    

   

    

5. Congratulations! You’re now fully equipped to create delightful (or mildly annoying) sounds!
