Description
Castanet
"Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you castanets that blend the traditional musical instrument with modern 3D printing technology and the rich symbolism of Mexican culture.
Castanets also known as clackers or palillos, are a percussion instrument (idiophone), used in Spanish, Calé, Moorish,Ottoman, Italian, Mexican, Sephardic, Portuguese, Philippine, Brazilian, and Swiss music. Their uniqueness lies in the use of Santa Muerte motifs, which give them a mysterious and intriguing character. Santa Muerte, or Holy Death, is a figure venerated in Mexico, symbolizing protection and care. The use of her image on the castanets is not only a decorative element but also an expression of respect for this tradition.
The castanets were designed with attention to every detail, both aesthetically and functionally. Their ergonomic shape ensures comfortable use, and the precisely selected materials guarantee a clear and resonant sound. The Santa Muerte motifs have been carefully incorporated into the structure of the instrument, creating a harmonious whole.
These castanets are not only a musical instrument but also a work of art that combines tradition with modernity.
Assembly & Tips:
- When printing, additional glue was used on the Pei board
- Connect everything with a thick rubber band. To make it easier to pass through the hole, cut the ends of the rubber band at an angle.
