Description

This 3D printable Large Starter Seed Tray is a game-changer for gardeners seeking a low-maintenance, high-efficiency way to start their seedlings. Designed to hold 49 individual cells, each measuring 20mm x 20mm x 27mm, this tray offers plenty of space for growing a diverse array of plants think herbs, flowers, or hearty veggies all in one compact unit. The cell depth ensures robust root development, while the clever fold-open design allows each cell to split apart effortlessly for stress-free transplanting, keeping your seedlings’ roots intact.

What makes this tray truly special is its integrated self-watering base. The lower tray catches excess water and wicks it back up to the cells, keeping soil consistently moist without the hassle of constant hand-watering. Tiny drainage holes in each cell prevent over-saturation, striking the perfect balance for healthy growth. This feature is a lifesaver for busy gardeners or anyone looking to streamline their seed-starting routine.

Assembly Notes

  • Fold all four sides of each cell inward on itself before placing into the tray
  • The cells will flex into shape don’t force them
  • Warm plastic folds better
    • If the print is fresh off the bed, it’s ideal
    • If it’s been sitting in a cold shop, warm it slightly before folding
  • Cold prints are more brittle and can snap during folding
  • Take your time here once they’re in, they stay solid.
