Hello,

I designed a pirate-style compass that works for my son's birthday.

For assembly, you need a 75mm diameter x 5mm plexiglass disc and approximately 50 pieces of 3mm diameter x 1mm magnets.

Be careful when removing supports and initially bending the needle; gently bend it back and forth a few times until it moves freely. Bending it too quickly the first time may cause it to break.

Insert the magnets during the print pause, paying attention to their correct orientation! You can determine the orientation using a magnet labeled with north and south poles (the south pole of your magnets must point north) or print the plate once without magnets, let it float in a bowl of water, and then simply place the magnets on top to determine the correct orientation.

Once everything is printed, fill the compass with approximately 15ml of water and insert the disc. Then glue the plexiglass disc in place using superglue. I initially applied the glue to the round surface of the disc, which resulted in unsightly spots; it's best to apply the glue to the side of the disc.
