Description

A tea light desk lamp that can be used as decoration on a desk, as a bedside night light or even on a coffee table to create cosy flickering vibes in your living space. 'Hygge’ as we like to say in Denmark.

Ideal for printing in black and gold for that classic retro look, but also great when printed in a modern version with bright colours.

Just remember that some light spill through the lamp shade can be expected for filament colours with low opacity. Print your favourite colour combination and let me see it!

The main print profile is for the A1 Mini and uses five plates, but I've also included a profile for the larger printers with one plate for each colour.

The desk lamp is designed to be printed with fuzzy skin on a textured build plate. However, if you have a smooth build plate or just don't like fuzzy skin, I've included print profiles without it for both printer sizes.

While I haven't tested the alternative profiles, all other print settings are the same, so I don't expect any issues. So, if you try printing without fuzzy skin, post a photo so I can see the results - and let me know if you have any problems!

The desk lamp prints without supports and assembly is without glue.

Assembly instructions

Once you've printed all the parts, assembly is very simple. Start by carefully pushing the post into the base. The fit can be a little tight, so a minimal amount of post-processing (de-burring) may be required.

Once the post and base are assembled, the main reflector part can be pushed through the post and the wedge inserted to secure it in place.

Then add the top part of the reflector, making sure the four studs align and fit into the holes of the main reflector part.

Now add three tea lights, remembering to switch them on.

Finally, you can add the lamp shade. And hey presto, your tea light desk lamp is ready!

Update 01/03/2025: All print profiles have been updated with small cosmetic improvements to the print quality. Mainly for the reflector and wedge parts.
