Hide the worm (pentamino)
🎩 A unique 3D challenge!
This 3D puzzle consists of all 12 existing pentominoes, assembled to form a perfect 4x4x4 cube.
🌟 A fully green cube, but not so simple... Once assembled, you will get a uniformly green cube! But beware, a space of 5 empty cubes inside allows you to hide the worm...
🔒 A tough puzzle! Unlike the other versions, information is very limited. Only the outer shell of the cube is visible, the rest is black. Once completed, it makes a great decorative object ✨, until you decide to redo the challenge or surprise your friends!
🔍 How to assemble the pieces correctly? The colored faces of the pieces must be properly oriented. To do this, check the colored pieces outside the board in the 3MF file. 💡 They are not meant to be printed but serve as a visual reference. You can rotate them in all directions to understand their positioning. 💡 Beware – a wrong orientation will make assembly impossible! 💡 White markers indicate possible fastening positions: they are optional but help stabilize the assembled cube.
🌐 Two available versions:
- Tight version: better hold once assembled.
- Loose version: easier to handle.
🔄 Other cubes to vary the difficulty! If you are looking for a simpler or more challenging version, check out my other 4x cubes 🥳. They use the same pieces but are arranged differently, with decorations providing more or less information.
🤔 Too easy? Too hard? Finding the right difficulty level is a real challenge! There are ways to simplify or further complicate the assembly. ✉️ Let me know what you prefer; I plan to create more very soon!

🔎 Technical notes
- 🔹 Among the 12 pentominoes, the standard length-5 bar is replaced with a length-4 bar for design reasons.
- 🔹 Quick calculation: 12 x 5 - 1 = 59 cubes instead of 4x4x4 = 64. The 5 empty cubes are at the center and allow you to hide the worm.
- 🔹 Positioning markers provide an additional clue to aid in solving.
- 🎮 The solution is available in the HELP_ME.ZIP file.
