Last week I had the idea to make a cartoon Coyote head to fit the viral Urban Bunny model by Mohrins. I started sculpting and before I could finish I stumbled upon a model called “street willy coyote” by LRF 3D. They were kind enough to make their model public domain, so I said heck – why not just make the head from this model fit instead?

Changes to original model (head only):

  • Sculpted a new neck and remeshed the model.
  • Scaled the head to fit the bugs hoodie and removed material that interfered
  • Smoothed the model, added material to the eyelids and added creases and other detail where needed to sharpen the model up.
  • Threads were added so it can use a screw to attach to the body (included).
  • Full AMS paint job

Those changes made a really nice looking Coyote head that I'm really happy with! Enjoy!

Filaments used in my example pic:

Polymaker Polyterra PLA Wood Brown

Polymaker Polyterra PLA Earth Brown

eSun PLA+ Black

TTYT3D PLA Yellow

As with anything with a bunch of color swaps, I recommend printing a few at a time to balance out the waste!

Be sure to check out my other new model!

the supports left scarring on the back of the head , might want to check orientation to limit this , however face part is good and once assembled you can’t see back of head as it’s in the hoodie. , unlike the bugs bunny head this one looks a bit out of proportion to body , proberly a personal thing , wanted Sylvester head but it’s been taken down , shame really as can’t find the other heads anymore

I messed around for quite a while before releasing this and this particular orientation was settled on to reduce the number of color changes (particularly from the ears) and to keep support scars off of the visible parts of the model. If you print it neck down, the snout and nose require supports since it's basically a 90 degree overhang. This would look really bad. I did the best I could with proportions as I did not want to require any alterations to the hoodie itself since it's not licensed to allow remixes. I did see the Sylvester earlier today, uploaded by a different user but they renamed it Sylvan this time. Here's the link https://makerworld.com/en/models/1155180-sylvan-head-urban-multi-parts

yes thankyou i found it last night when checking my print i left running throughout the night , i am currently printing it , i will reprint a set of body parts for the coyote head , alsp found the daffy duck head and downloaded it so will be busy next week , thanks also for your reply and i appreciate that it must of taken quite some time to find best orination for your head and as i said you cant see the rough bit as covered by hood so its not an issue , i love these as they are very much customisable so they all look unique , i am currently working on a graffi top as i think it will look awesome but heavy on filament , but as a one off should look pretty cool , so worth it i feel follow me if you like sound of it

are you going to consider a multiparts head? to save time and filament. It will be better. Like this it's too long

I totally understand, I'll see if I can work on a split version. It would be nice to offer. I usually print multiples and purge to infill for best results and/or add a purge object to flush to when I print things like this.

Yeah would be nice to have the inner ear color separate just like bugs. Would save a ton of filament changes. Wish I knew how to do something like that myself 😂
