Description

If you’ve maxed out your gym machine but still want to progress, this weight stack pin lets you add extra plates to push beyond the limit. It has a 50mm outer diameter, fitting most standard plates like Olympic (50.8mm ID) and Technogym FL10150.

The holder is 120mm long, offering ample space for multiple plates and a clip. You’ll need a 6mm or 8mm metal shaft (solid steel), which fits 116mm into the holder and than hammer it in place. The friction holds the rod. I recommend the rod extending 70mm out, that's the same size of a normal techno gym pin. If the rod is too long it can bend. If you're unsure or require a different size, don't hesitate to leave a comment!

For printing, I recommend PETG or ASA for better impact resistance. The design is quite sturdy, so PLA might also work, but long-term durability is untested—if you try it, let me know how it holds up! Print with high infill for maximum strength.

⚠ Be careful not to overload your machine, as it may not be designed to handle excessive weight.

How to use it:

Printed it with generic PETG, super strong. I tested it by trying to break it with a table mounted vice grip and it actually broke the vice grip! I tried it at the gym with a 45lbs (20kg) plate and its only problem was slipping off, so make sure to put a clip on it.

I've noted 2 problems. 1. The weights slip because metal shaft is too thin. For my gym a 10mm is required. 2. It slips also because of PETG, but this can be solved easily.

Such a clever design! The 8mm weight stack pin I had from amazon bent instantly. With this print I can use a hard stainless steel rod and stack even more weights. Only problem is, that some machines hide their weights deep behind plastic walls, which adds ~10cm unusable space. Could you please make multiple versions of this with different lengths like 150,175,200mm? The added length will also be helpful for a clamp to secure the weights
