Description

I wanted a buttstock for my drill. Something I could slip on and off as needed so I designed this adapter that slides on the back of the DeWalt DCD996 XR ½” drill. A standard AR buttstock will lock right onto it. You can find buttstock files to download online. It may could be used for other drills depending on fit.

I’ll include my Fusion360 file, but I warn you I am new at Fusion and when you try to change it for your drill, it’ll probably break. It might give you an idea of how I designed it to make your own design.

With this adapter, you won’t have to push the drill with your arms. You can just gently lean against the buttstock. I’d advise not to push too hard as that will shorten the life of the drill components and most likely will break the adapter. I tried to chamfer around where the butstock tube connects to the back, but one little spot that I couldn't unselect kept me from adding additional strength. Be careful with how much force you use so you don't get hurt. I've not tried to break one to see how tough it is. I'd go 4 to 6 walls with as much infill as you want to use. I used PETG as a minimum strength filament.
