I am glad to present to you the first generation of the Battery Test-Rig for AA Batteries.

This little stand uses just your multimeter to clamp and hold batteries for you to measure them properly. If you measure a Voltage above or equal to 1.3V, it's good.

 

If you don't have a multimeter with a battery test function (usually signed with a 1.5V or 9V sign), you'll need to put a 10 Ohm resistor between the test probes, as shown in the picture below.

 

 

The reason for this resistor is to measure the battery under load, because empty batteries can still show 1.5V of voltage when measured without load.
