Description

I had a request on the HueForge Facebook group for this one, so here it is.

Charlize Theron is the latest addition to my ongoing series of actress HueForges.

When I'm looking for HueForges to print, nothing annoys me more than people using high resolution inkjet or downloaded photographs to illustrate their HueForge rather than the HueForge itself.  As such, any HueForge I produce will only have images of the actual HueForge printed with the settings below - this way, you'll always know what to expect.

As with all Hueforges, the transmission distance (TD) of the filaments used is pretty crucial.  I use filament from readily available manufacturers in the UK, so as much as possible, please stick to the filaments listed, or check the TD of any you substitute (especially the white).

As with many of my designs, this one uses a 0.04 layer height.  This allows for much greater detail, but does have the side effect that it takes much longer to slice, and adds to the print time.  I prefer quality over speed, so I think it's very much worthwhile.

Before printing, make sure your plate is clean.  I often have adhesion issues with larger prints (especially flatter ones like HueForges) - they are nearly all solved by cleaning the plate.  I've also started using 3Dlac - it's not cheap, but a little goes a long way and I recommend it highly.

If you're going to resize this in the slicer, please don't touch the Z axis!  This is vitally important!  Only resize the X & Y axes, and realise that your results may vary from what is intended in my print profile.

Additionally, this design is very heavy on white for shading.  It's vitally important that you don't substitute in any white filament that has a lower TD than the one I've specified - a little high shouldn't be an issue though.

If you like any of my designs, please leave a review or a comment.  I'm always open to constructive criticism and view it as the best way to improve.  If you have any requests, please ask and I'll see what I can do.
