Description

After several tries to come up with a range brass sorter that makes things easy, here it is.  It is sized to sort 45 ACP, 9 mm, and 22 LR while letting the trash fall out the bottom.  Will also sort other calibers, including rifle calibers, but I modeled it for the most common three at the pistol range I frequent.  In this design I wanted to hit a few criteria to set it apart:

  1. All components must nest and easily fit into a range bag.
  2. Must include a lid so it can be shaken to work the trash out.
  3. Has to separate the three calibers listed above.
  4. When in use all parts have to fit together.
  5. Most importantly, it has to be easy to understand and use.

Simply pop off the lid, stack the trays in reverse nesting order, hold it over the bin dump the dust pan full of brass and debris into the top.  Pop the lid on and give it some shaking back and fort, kinda like gold panning.  Keep it over the bin as all the dust and trash will work its way out the bottom leaving you with three trays of sorted brass.  When you're all done, re-nest and pop the lid back on.

I've printed in PETG and it is holding up well, PLA would probably be fine also.   I've included two versions of the lid, one setup for color on color lettering and the other plain.

Enjoy!
