Update:
I uploaded a low profile version. It is 11.2 mm tall, compared to the previous version that is 15 mm tall. This should make it easier to use the clip when you are drying new or mostly new spools. You can see the comparison in this image (the new clip is on the right).

I will make this new version the primary print profile for this model going forward, as I don't see much downside. But the original version is still available if you want it.

Update: User @DarkestKnight reports in the comments that, when printed in Bambu ABS, these filament clips hold their shape, and their spring, when stored in a filament dryer at 70 degrees C for 6 hours!
This clip:
- Is usable with one hand.
- Does not get in the way (or get knocked off) when stacking spools.
Allows spools to turn in a filament dryer.

We must keep making filament clips until someone gets it right!
This clip should be printed in PETG, or in some other material that will spring back (close) to its original shape after deforming under load. PLA does not do that well.
This clip follow's Whity's example, with a clip that fits entirely on the inside of the spool, and does not attach to the edges.
Whity's filament clip is almost perfect. I only had a couple of problems with it. First, it loses its spring over time, and it doesn't hold tightly to the spool after a while. Second, I found it challenging to attach filament to it, and to take the filament off.
This remix is an effort to fix these problems. Here is what I did.
- I made it a bit bigger. With the plastic thicker, the whole thing is a bit stiffer, which helps it stay springy, even after a while under load. This also lets the clip compress a bit more to fit inside the boundaries of the spool. All of this helps it stick to the spool better.
- I unwound the “S” shape a bit, so it is more open. This also lets it compress more and hold to the spool more tightly.
- I replaced the part that holds the filament with a different style that has some teeth and more grip. But it still releases pretty easily.
