Resin Washer (Parametric)

Needed a small box in which I could clean small objects with IPA without making a huge mess. Ideal for resin minis and other small objects. The print also uses less than 100g of filament if you use the included print profile! 

I printed the gasket out of TPU (the print profile only has PLA), the box still isn't watertight but I was worried the PLA might be too stiff. I haven't tried the gasket in PLA but there should be no issues. The gasket should be solid if you do use TPU. 

I used a couple of drops of glue to hold the gasket and handles in place. Press fitting the gasket and handles works but I'd rather have a more sturdier solution.

The way I used this is by putting the objects inside the tray and just lifting it up and down in the IPA. You can use the edge to support the tray on the box to let the objects in the tray dry in the air (seen in the picture). You can also take the tray out and put it on the lid in the indent, it will ‘float’ on top of it.

I'd suggest using a 0.1mm layer height, The holes in the tray will look best and many tolerances are designed with a 0.1mm layer height. You could try using a 0.2mm layer height but I cannot guarantee everything will look as nice. 

I will try to come up with a solution to make the model watertight with the TPU

This model has been designed with parametric functions in mind. Open the .f3d file in Fusion 360 and go to ‘Modify’>'Change Parameters'. In this menu you can see all the parameters you can change (screenshot included). Do take note of the warnings, some parameters should not be changed because they will break the model. Do not worry though, they've been excluded from the favourites section and also have a comment with “!!!DO NOT CHANGE!!!”.
