A 3D articulated snake is a model or figure designed to mimic the movements and appearance of a real snake, but with a flexible, jointed structure. Imagine a series of interconnected segments—each one typically designed as a small, individual piece—that allow the snake to bend and twist smoothly, much like how a real snake slithers.

Each segment of the snake is often made with materials like plastic, metal, or rubber and is hinged or linked together to provide fluid movement. This articulation can vary depending on the design, with some models offering a greater range of motion, allowing the snake to coil, curve, and even strike like a real one. The scale and texture are often detailed, with a 3D printed or molded skin that mimics scales, giving it a lifelike look.

The flexibility and segmented body make it great for display purposes, educational tools, or even as a toy. Depending on the model, some articulated snakes can be operated with a mechanical system or even remote-controlled for added realism. The movements can range from simple twists to complex, serpentine slithering motions.

These snakes are often used in robotics, animation, or as interactive objects in exhibits or games, offering an intriguing and dynamic alternative to static models.
