🧰 Rugged Storage Box – 1/10 Scale RC Accessory

This may be a simple design, but it marks the first of many 1/10-scale RC accessories currently in development.

Several complementary parts are already completed or in progress, including:

• Prinsu-inspired roof rack
• Front Runner–style roof rack
• High-lift jack stand with moving lever
• Propane tank with rotating knob
• Quick-mount accessories for roof rack systems
• RotoPax-style containers
• Body mounts and body clips
• Magnet body mounts
• Front and rear shock towers for the SCX10 III

While not every component will be universal, many of these accessories are specifically designed to benefit SCX10 / SCX10 III owners.

📐 Design Inspiration

This rugged storage box is inspired by the ROAM rugged cases commonly used in the overlanding community—a setup I personally run and trust. The goal was to create a realistic, durable, and functional miniature version that fits naturally into scale RC builds.

🛠️ Hardware Requirements (Important)

To ensure durability and proper function, this model requires hardware:

• 3 × 2 mm × 13 mm brass dowel pins
  • Used for:
    • Two rear hinges
    • Front latch mechanism

Alternative Option

• 2 mm × 14 mm steel dowel pins can be used
  • Will leave a very small amount of excess on each side

Note: Early prototypes used M3 bolts (as shown in photos), but the design was revised to use dowel pins. This change:

• Maintains consistent hinge sizing
• Increases overall strength
• Allows for tighter, more realistic hinge geometry

• Designed to feel rugged and functional, not decorative
• Pairs well with roof racks, overland builds, and trail accessories
• Intended as a foundation piece for future 1/10-scale RC accessories
