Description

Here you can find my design of an original American Mailbox.

Easy print without any supports.

 

Two colors needed:

- Silver for the body and front hatch

- Red for the flag

 

Only thing to do is to glue the hook onto the front hatch.

No additional hardware is needed.

 

They are separated on two build plates so that no AMS is needed.

Can be used for decoration or also as storage for your pens on your working desk.

Because of bad weather and running out of time I wasn’t able to shovel to my front door where my mailbox actually is. I printed this with a little spike on my H2S at 70% scale and it’s the perfect size for actual mail. hasn’t even been out for a day yet but hopefully the mailman will actually use it. Great model but the hinges on the door are very fragile and I had to glue them back together. This issue can be easily fixed by making your own hinges and gluing them to the door.

The model was never intented to be used as a real Mailbox more as a desk decoration but I like it that you tried it 😃

Be careful putting it together, the little hinges are very delicate.

nearly perfect. The door pivot (hinge) points are a little rough. but I assume that’s due to my newbie status as a 3-D printer. makes a great conversation piece
