Description

“Dont Rail me” – The Classic Guardrail in 1:10! 🚧🏗️

Scale Conversion Guide – Adjusting this 1:10 model to other scales in the bottom!
🔗 Check out my other to scale designs: To Scale Collection

Every RC construction site, roadwork scene, or scale highway needs the classic highway guardrail—and now you can add it to yours! Whether you're looking for hyper-realistic thin profiles or a slightly sturdier version for actual use in an RC setup, I've got both W-Beam guardrails and C-Posts ready for printing!

💡 Two Versions – Because Realism vs. Durability is a Battle We All Know
🔹 Ultra-Realistic Version – As close to true scale as possible… but let's be real, at this size it's practically a paper-thin wall when printed.
🔹 Slightly Beefed-Up Version – Still thin enough to stay in scale, but actually usable without snapping when you look at it wrong.

🛠️ Features – Because Safety First, Even in Miniature!

✔️ 1:10 Scale – Based on real highway guardrail profiles
✔️ Both W-Beam & C-Post Included! – Choose your favorite or print both!
✔️ Two Thickness Options – Choose between hyper-realistic and "Okay, maybe this won't disintegrate on impact"
✔️ Modular Design – Print as many as you need and extend your RC road network!

🖨️ Printing Tips – Don't Let It Get Too Wobbly! 🚧

✔️ Print upright, with brim! This prevents warping and gives better adhesion.
✔️ Printed in 100% scale in the pictures, using a 0.4mm nozzle—it’s thin, really thin. A 0.2mm nozzle might give far better detail!
(not the two last ones, hey are the “thick” ver.)
✔️ Supports? Nope! Both versions print cleanly without extra support.
✔️ Filament Choice Matters – PETG, ASA, or carbon-reinforced materials are ideal for strength without making it overly thick.
✔️ Finishing Touches – Want that weathered road barrier look? A little sanding, dry brushing, or rust effects will make this chef’s kiss in a diorama or RC scene.

📸 Show Off Your Prints!
I’d love to see your makes—especially if you take it a step further with some post-processing! Whether it’s a killer paint job, a unique filament choice, or just a color I didn’t think of, share your prints! Seeing how others bring these designs to life is half the fun.

📏 Scale Conversion Guide – Adjusting This 1:10 Model to Other Scales

Need to resize your 1:10 models for different RC and miniature scales? Use this guide to scale up or down easily. Just multiply your original dimensions by the conversion factor below!

Target ScaleConversion FactorScale Percentage
1:5200%2,0
1:8125%1,25
1:1283,33%0,8333
1:1471,43%0,7143
1:1662,5%0,625
1:1855,56%0,5556
1:2441,67%0,4167
1:3528,57%0,2857
1:4820,83%0,2083

💡 How to Use This:

  • Scaling Up (e.g., 1:10 → 1:8): Multiply by 1,25.
  • Scaling Down (e.g., 1:10 → 1:14): Multiply by 0,7143.

🔧 Example: If your 1:10 model part is 100mm long and you need it in 1:14 scale, do:
100mm × 0,7143 = 71,43mm

Now you (and everyone else) can easily adjust any 1:10 model to different RC or miniature scales! 🚀

📏 Scaling Warning!

Rescaling a 3D model isn’t always simple—here’s what to keep in mind:

🔹 Thin Walls & Fragile Parts – Scaling down can weaken walls or erase details.
🔹 Holes & Fitment Issues – Pegs, joints, and screw holes may shrink or expand too much.
🔹 Moving Parts – Hinges and snap-fits might not function properly.
🔹 Printability – Smaller scales may need finer nozzles; larger ones may require stronger materials.

If I haven’t uploaded a profile for your scale, I haven’t tested it! Adjustments may be needed.

💡 Need a specific scale? If unsure, ask me! I might be able to tweak key details for better fit and function.

Happy printing! 😊
