Description

Volvo 240 adapter to fit a double din stereo in the single DIN stereo space, while retaining the use of the heater via pass through holes that do not inhibit air flow from the heater blower assembly.

Model was created to fit a 6.4in Sony XAV-AX210 stereo. If printing for another stereo, you will likely need to adjust the opening size for the stereo face, the outer lip that supports the surround (1mm is best) and where the holes are located on either sides so that the part can be attached.

I originally referred to a forum post on ozvolvo here (https://ozvolvo.org/d/16609-16609) to use, but didn't really like what the model did to the heater vents as it requires re-routing the air flow with pvc tubing and installing new ‘heater vents’ in the gauge pod section to the left of the stereo. I also discovered that the method used in that post does not work for all years, as my '92 features a vent scoop that routes air from the blower to the stock heater vent location.

Mounting tabs are attached to the side of the stereo plate to attach it to the vehicle via the threaded holes directly to the left of the top stereo location.

Let me know if you have any questions. I'm not a professional 3d designer or anything, but i figured these could help others get a starting place for their own projects.
