Schlage Primus Key Cover (Commercial Key)

NOTE: THIS PRINT IS FOR SCHLAGE COMMERCIAL KEYS ONLY, NOT FOR SCHLAGE RESIDENTIAL. This means this is NOT for house keys, but for keys that are used at places like offices, schools, etc.

Update 1/2/2026:

I have modified the model slightly to have better tolerances and last longer. What I found with the last version is that the extra plastic around where the keyring goes causes excessive wear that makes the key break over time. The V2 file that is uploaded removes this part and makes the tolerances a bit tighter for the key height. I may work on making the key tolerance better where the key body meets the ‘keyed’ shaft as there is about .1mm of play there. I will update this when any changes are made. 

Load up some PLA and print! There's a pause at layer 17 (Layer 20 for v2) for you to insert your key for a fully encapsulated print!

Please put a thin slice of double sided sticky tape on the body of the key to help the key fit better in the case. This will help the key with rigidity and make up for the differences in the old keys this case was modeled off of. The keys I have are very used and worn down at the edges so this isn't a perfect model, but its a good place to start and easy to fix with some tape!

After about 3 minutes of printing the print will pause. Take this time to stick your bare key in the printed slot. Resume and in about 2 more minutes you'll have a fully covered key in the color of your choice.
