The model needs to be assembled with the matching CD-ROM drives, with the increasing popularity of Polaris mini2, there are dismantling factories on Xianyu selling matching CD-ROM drive brackets, now you just need to search for "Polaris mini2 matching CD-ROM drive" to find it, no need to worry about not being able to buy it]

The printing model can be completed in one plate on printers with a 230 platform or larger, A1 mini needs 2 plates, the files have been uploaded, just arrange them as you see fit, there are no special requirements for printing parameters, just print according to your usual habits, I use 0.2mm layer height, 3 walls, 3 top and bottom layers (the top can also be 5 layers, as the top layer in the sloped area below is prone to imperfections), 12% infill, I'm used to PETG material, but PLA is also fine, it's just a bit more brittle, regarding printing parameters, it's mainly up to you, setting higher print quality will definitely result in better output!

1. RP2040 printer motherboard (Bilibili expert Zhu Biluo's open source motherboard - many people solder and sell it on Xianyu, priced at 45-55, of course, other boards are also fine, with a size of 65*100 mm, the rear of the Polaris mini2 has an installation space of this size, there's plenty of room in the back, just modify the files yourself if using another motherboard, the model CAD files have also been uploaded, no further details will be given later)

2. Motor driver modules *4, can be A4988 or 2209, but some motherboards soldered by individuals do not support A4988, so communicate clearly when buying the motherboard! (Buy on Taobao, 3-3.5 yuan for an A4988, around 13 yuan for a 2209), pay attention to the orientation when plugging the motor driver into the motherboard, never plug it in reverse!

3. Redmi 2 modified host computer, a phone can be acquired for around 30 yuan, other models are also possible, for specific models that can be flashed, you can find another expert Aomura_Umrko on Bilibili, he specializes in this, you can also use a Wi-Fi dongle (a Snapdragon 410 dongle can be bought for 9.9 yuan with free shipping, but not all of them can be flashed, beginners should avoid this), I recommend using a phone, in our group, some members are also quite professional programmers, in short, learn more (buy on Xianyu), additionally, you will need a USB-C data cable and a USB to Android OTG adapter, used to connect the host computer and the motherboard

4. Desktop CD-ROM drives *3, X/Y axes use the same model, Z axis uses a different model, if you don't have these two models of CD-ROM drives, you can also modify the installation position of the CD-ROM drive in the model to use different drives, the open source CAD files are also provided to allow everyone to not be limited by CD-ROM drive models (P.S.: CD-ROM drives are cheaper now than before; after open sourcing, many dismantling factories on Xianyu sell a set of three CD-ROM drive brackets for 15-20 yuan with free shipping, just search for "Polaris mini2 matching CD-ROM drive" to find them; I have no cooperative relationship with them, discuss details yourself)

5. Motor wires, depending on the motherboard, the motherboard I use requires a total of 4 XH2.54-4P motor wires (On Taobao, 80cm ones are about 0.9 yuan each, there will be plenty of extra, which can be cut and connected to limit switches, so there's no need to buy limit switches with wires)

6. E3D V6 remote extruder kit, 12V 40-50W is fine, it's up to you (around 19 on Taobao)

7. BMG extruder, buy according to the model (around 17 on Taobao)

8. Extruder motor - 42*23.5 thick stepper motor (around 11 on Taobao)

9. Limit switches *3, use ones without wires, Taobao price ranges from 0.1 to 0.5 yuan

10. Printer 12V power supply, a power supply with a DC port is fine, a 12V 6A power supply is recommended, considering mislabeled specifications, 12V 8-10A can also be used (around 10-13 yuan for a 6A one on Taobao)

11. Grease 1.5-3 yuan per tube, available at stores selling printer accessories

12. 10*10*1.5mm thick aluminum plate, 3 pieces can be bought for 1 yuan with free shipping on Taobao, however, our group member Dami later designed a dedicated build plate and platform for mini2, with PCB board design files, circuit board manufacturers like JIALICHUANG can provide free samples, so you don't need to buy this aluminum plate, you can search online for how to get it for free
