Description
TSA Master Key 002 – Travel Sentry
This is a 3D-printable version of the TSA Master Key 002, one of several keys used by airport security to open Travel Sentry-compliant luggage locks. Like other master keys in this system, it was reconstructed from publicly available data and released as a proof of concept.
The TSA officially stated that the public availability of these models does not pose a threat to aviation security—only to the physical integrity of TSA-approved locks.
Legal Notice:
You may use this key to open your own lock or—with permission—someone else's. Any unauthorized use may be illegal under your local laws.
Printing Notes:
- Model Material: PLA works well for the key body.
- Support Interface: PETG or another breakaway material is ideal for supports.
- Post-Processing: Minimal cleanup needed when printed with proper settings.
Important Handling Information:
The key is small and not particularly durable. Avoid applying excessive force. Use only light turning pressure, and be sure to insert and rotate it correctly. Intended for demonstration and limited practical use.
The design may also be used as a template for more durable versions via casting, machining, or manual crafting.
Background:
This key is part of the Travel Sentry lock system widely used in North America and around the world. It belongs to a series of master keys identified by numbers (TSA001 through TSA007), each corresponding to specific lock profiles.
