Description

This is a 3d printed Tape Measure 2m Beam set for Amateur Radio. The dimensions and spacing are off of WB2HOL's design found here.

EDIT  The Leggios site is now dead unfortunately, here are some alternatives.

Build it: 2 meter Tape Measure Yagi Beam Antenna - KB9VBR Antennas

These antennas are great for Direction Finding/Fox Hunting, ISS Satellite Work, FM Satellite work, repeaters, etc!

It is made of saddle mounts that fit over ¾" PVC pipe and then lock the tape measure blade in place with top caps. There are dimples on the saddles and top caps to help anchor the blade in place. There is a spot underside to stow the ends of the tape measure blades.

4-40 Heat Set inserts are used for the top caps. They are Dodge P-6035-04BR219

4-40 x 7/16" Screws to hold down the top caps, a shorter length could work too.

Holding down to the PVC was done with a No 10 stainless plastic screw from McMaster. You could use various other screws too.

Tape Measure used from Home Depot.

I printed them out of ASA and ABS for temperature resistance.

They are designed to be printed with no supports standing on end for the saddle mount and the edge for the top cap. I believe they should import into the slicer in the correct orientation.

When they were designed for a club build, all the parts including 6ft of RG-8x coax and a Amphenol BNC connector could be sourced and built for under 20$ each assuming you were doing multiples of them.

Print the Top Caps with heavy walls.

Saddles should be fine with 3ish walls and 25% Gyroid or so.

They printed fine on a Voron v0.1 and a Bambu.
