The UH-60 Black Hawk, officially designated as the UH-60 Utility Helicopter by the US Army and S-70A by Sikorsky, is a four-bladed, twin-engine, medium-lift utility helicopter.
The UH-60 has spawned numerous variants and versions, highlighting its versatility, including the US Marine Corps' Night Hawk, the US Air Force's Pave Hawk, the Australian Army's Battle Hawk, and the US Navy's Sea Hawk.
The UH-60 Black Hawk was developed by Sikorsky Aircraft for the US Army in the 1970s.
In addition to the United States, more than 20 countries and regions have purchased the UH-60. These export models are generally referred to as S-70 helicopters (Sikorsky's designation).
With over 4,500 units produced, the UH-60 is one of the most widely produced helicopters in the world, a testament to its exceptional design.
