Description

This Goldeneye duck decoy is a model of an old wood carved decoy from my grandfather that I scanned and edited in Blender.

It is 30cm/12in long which is just about the same size decoys I normally use. I recommend printing out of PETG if you plan on using it in the water for hunting, as PLA will degrade long term unless it is very well sealed. While I have used it for hunting, this decoy can also serve as a decorative piece for arts and crafts projects, pond displays, or wildlife-themed décor.

I did consider trying to make a version for the AMS using multiple filaments, but I don't think it would look realistic enough for hunting. I recommend using either acrylic or latex paint, and then sealing with Rust-oleum 2X Ultracover Matte Clear spray.

An optional keel is available (separately uploaded at this link), which can be glued onto the base for added stability in water. Whether you're looking for an effective hunting tool, a unique craft project, or a decorative centerpiece, I hope you enjoy my model!
