The Shahada (in Arabic ٱلشَّهَادَة, aš-šahāda, "the testimony" or "the declaration") is the fundamental declaration of faith in Islam, forming the first pillar of the five pillars that define the tenets of Islamic belief. Its content varies slightly depending on the Islamic schools of thought.
