Description

I needed some strong M10x1.5 fasteners for a project I was working on, and had consistent failure of the standard orientation with fasteners standing on the print bed. There were a few models with the fasteners laying down to help with strength, but none I could find had a knob or easy means of helping tighten. So I modeled and made my own! These have a strength far and above as compared to the models printed standing on the bed, plus they print faster too.

Printing this is super easy, no support and very fast. I have the files set up with 3 loops and a 25% infill, which has worked great for me. If you need maximum strength possible you can move to 100% infill, and align the infill with the direction of the bolt. The bolt should just snap right into the knob. I made it pretty tight, so you may have to use a little persuasion to get them to seat all the way. You could always increase the size of the knob by a .5-1% if you dont like how hard it is to pop together.

There are two different plates of screws, one for threading into a 3D printed thread and one for a metal or machined thread. You have to give a little more allowance for 3D printed threads so there is a slight offset on all the thread faces to allow it to thread in easier. You can use the metal version for 3D printed threads, but expect it to be very tight from the start.

Note I have only tested these on PLA, PLA plus, and PETG. I expect it would work with other filaments, but I have not personally verified.
