Description

Thank you all for your input on this Test model:

Feel free to print this if you like, the finalized model can be found here :

https://makerworld.com/en/models/1655098-modular-plier-holder-stronger-redesigned#profileId-1750346

The finalized model features a slightly smaller gap to hold the pliers better,  magnet pockets and thicker spacers for additional strength

TEST MODEL INFO:

Hey! this is my very first upload so please bear with me and try it out!

I designed this plier rack based on some inspiration from other branded ones out there such as Snap-on/Sealey/MAC and Milwaukee's versions but didn't want to pay £30-60 for them!

My version can fit most brands of pliers and grips. Please let me know if you need any adjustments and i will upload an alternate print profile.

They are strong enough to hold your pliers/grips in place, the weight of the tools holds them securely in the draw and the height of  them is only 45mm allowing to fit in almost any toolbox draws bar the crazy shallow ones.

If any adjustments are required, post a comment and i will upload an additional print profile to suit but i do think i have found a happy medium!

Recommend printing in PLA+,PETG or ABS.

I have these printed in PLA during my testing and there a little too flimsy for my liking. Currently using them daily printed in both ABS and PLA+

USE SUPPORTS, i recommend tree supports as per the print profile and also a brim which can be a small pain to remove but for me on my A1 Mini helps stability of the thin legs when printing ABS, i did not require the brim for PLA/PLA+/PETG

Benefits:

  • CHEAP
  • Mega toolbox/draw space saving
  • DID I SAY CHEAP?
  • Organization
  • Modular (I use 4 in a row in my Snap On toolbox draws)

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A TEST MODEL TO GET FEEDBACK FOR THE FINAL DESIGN

Replying to @Timbers09 :
Mine was truly a filament issue. Not the design. And even with that it still hasn't broken

A bit wobbly, and extensions pieces are hard to put in. Might be my print settings. very good otherwise

hey! thank you for the review :) I do have a slightly thicker version but reduces the space for your tools by 1mm, I can upload this print profile if you would like ? it adds a fair bit of strength :) as for the little joining bits, I did design them to be super tight. I can always do you a special with slightly more tolerance if required. please, let me know :)

Hi Timbers, thank you. The version i printed is fine for me, i don't think i will need the added strength personally, but someone might. Thanks for the model - cheers :)
