Sand Shovel

As a father of two energetic boys who love playing in the sand, I wanted to create a shovel that was both practical and fun for them to use. After looking through countless 3D designs, I noticed that most available models had large, square grips that weren’t ideal for small hands. Many of these shovels were either too bulky or uncomfortable for little fingers to hold for long periods. That’s when I decided to design my own version, specifically tailored for kids.

This shovel features a rounded, ergonomic handle that fits perfectly in small hands, making it easier to grip and control. The smooth curves ensure a comfortable hold, reducing hand strain and making digging more enjoyable. I also optimized the blade shape to scoop sand efficiently while remaining lightweight enough for children to lift and maneuver. Whether at the beach or in the sandbox, this design allows kids to dig, build, and explore with ease.

One of the fun details I added to this design is the option to customize the back of the shovel with a name or a playful title. Whether you want to personalize it with your child’s name, something fun like “Master Digger” or “Sand King,” or even a short message, this makes the shovel feel extra special. My boys loved having their own names on their shovels, and it also helps prevent mix-ups when playing with friends. It a great way to add a personal touch. I haven't mastered the skill of adding customizable text in Bambu Lab Studio, so feel free to add a print profile for this or point me in the direction where I can learn to do it myself.
