Triumph 900 Oil Funnels for Bonneville & Scrambler
Print Profile(1)

Description
This Bambu project file contains three plates to support oil filling on the Triumph 900 (865cc) motorcycle engine. I based these designs on the 2007 Triumph 900 Scrambler - Carbureted version. One plate contains an adapter for the funnels. The adapter screws into the engine block where the stock oil-fill cap is and accepts the end of the funnels and holds them in a good position for adding oil to the engine. That plate also contains a temporary oil cap to use when working on the engine. The second plate contains the print design for the Scrambler funnel. After installing the adapter, you gently push the smaller end of the funnel into it. This allows you to pour oil into the funnel above the exhaust pipes and below the gas tank, not making a mess of things. The third plate contains a similar funnel for use on the Bonneville which does not have the high exhaust pipes.
I used basic PLA for all of these parts, and using the orientations and supports provided in the file, are very easy to clean up after printing. The internal funnel support basically comes out as one continuous piece.
One note is that you should not screw the adapter into the engine block tightly at all. It does not need to be tight, just snug enough with your fingers so that the funnel can be positioned as needed.
I did not add air vents to the funnels. The 865cc engine holds pretty much exactly 4 quarts of oil, so just pour slow enough to not get any back airflow (gurgling) happening. This should make changing the oil on your Triumph much less messy.
