Aqara Outdoor Temperature and Humidity Sensor Housing

Design:

I designed this small housing for my externally mounted Aqara sensor. The hinge is printed in one piece. After successful printing, it must be slightly loosened/released at the joint with gentle pressure.

  • The sensor can be glued into the housing. The dimensions are chosen so that a later battery change is still possible.
  • The housing contains sufficient ventilation to ensure the most accurate possible outdoor readings and allow potential humidity to escape/drain.
  • The door with its handle can be securely closed thanks to its special design.

Assembly:

The housing consists of two parts that can be easily glued together using the locating pins. I use super glue or UHU HART plastic adhesive.

Printing:

When printing with PETG, setting the fan in the filament settings to a maximum of 10% and the enclosure fan to 60%-80% helped with the overhangs. Printing with PLA worked without problems, but it is somewhat less suitable for outdoor use, as PLA is prone to deformation and is more UV-sensitive.
