Description

2025-11-21 Update: Version 2.0 has been published as an additional print profile. It includes a windowed version (to allow access to the loading aid without pulling out the internals from the body) as well as two dual mag couplers (one with and one without windows.

Here in Germany magazines for semi-auto rifles are restricted to 10rd capacity for competition use. But since the 10rd Tippmann M4-22 magazines are a pain to handle and draw from pouches, I designed an extension for them to make them easier to deal with.

The printed extension replaces the original sleeve that sits over the actual magazine internals. Swapping back and forth can be done within seconds and requires no modifications to the actual magazine itself.

There is a customizable text element on the side, which allows you to add a label for easy magazine numbering.

The overall length is similar to a 20rd AR-15 PMAG. I have also included a comparison between a factory 25rd magazine, a factory 10rd magazine and a 10rd magazine with the extension.

I print all my magazine extensions in SUNLU Easy ABS (85% ABS / 15% TPU blend that can be printed at lower temps and on open printers). I selected Generic ABS in the print profile, as there is no default profile for the EABS. It should also work just fine in PETG and maybe even PLA, but PLA might not hold up too well over time. Feel free to experiment with this and let me know in the comments.

For German competition shooters: I deliberately designed the extension to be just short of being flush with the pistol grip (at least with the factory installed one, results may vary with other grips). This ensures compliance with AWaffV §6 and the BKA assessment of the competition legal versions of the Tippmann M4-22, as the magazine cannot extend past the pistol grip (which would be considered a banned cosmetic feature). Check with your installed grip before using it on your competition legal Tippmann M4-22.

Thanks for checking out my designs. If this has been useful to you, I'd appreciate a like or comment. If you are having any issues, please let me know in the comments as well and I can try to help you address them.
