Update : I resized the holes to have a tighter fit with the magnets and made a new print profile that smoothens out the trigger action.
This Toy BB gun was developed after being inspired by a model uploaded here https://makerworld.com/en/models/934485#profileId-899040. I wanted to make a magnetic version that I could have with me on the back of my IPhone and have work with magsafe accessories. Since his model does not allow remixes this is NOT A REMIX!!!. But I did draw inspiration from his work. I limited myself to the round shape of a MagSafe magnetic ring and the 10 x 2 mm magnets used in this project found here Small Magnets, 60 Pack Refrigerator Magnets 10x2mm Rare Earth Magnets Neodymium Magnets for Crafts, Whiteboard, Kitchen Cabinet… https://a.co/d/232PIND. I will continue to use these magnets for future projects I am thinking of involving MagSafe compatibility. The magnets are not required for normal function of the toy but make the toy Magsafe compatible. When inserting the magnets make sure the polarity is the same as magsafe accessories. The tolerance is low enough to be easily removed and flipped so no worries. The print file also includes a previous model I made for BBs but you can now just print it all at once and have both a fully functional 3D printed BB gun and ammo.
I also attached the engineering analysis explaining how these mechanisms work to further educate people on how they can make their own versions. This analysis assumes it to be that of a cantilever where the following images show the cross-section. For the ammo store a similar analysis can be made although the proper analysis is a curved beam theory but thats lesser known. Maybe ill update it eventually but for now these simple calculations can help determin if a design will fail or not in bending. The coil spring is also very difficult to try t understand its behavior analytically but its’ stress calculations should follow curved beam theory as well.
