It would be hugely appreciated and would go towards helping me design more functional models.
Thank you!
There are plenty of horizontally angled Ring doorbell mounts but I couldn't find any that were vertically angled.
Our doorbell is placed where it needs to face downwards, but it's also rather exposed to snow, birds, and rain.
I designed a mount for the Ring battery doorbell pro (the one with the 3D motion sensor) - it may fit others - which also includes a hood to protect from weather and birds which keeps the camera clear. The battery can also be easily removed in place.
It takes two wood screws up to 4.5mm diameter and head size of 15mm to fix it to the wall.
There are 4 small indentations where the doorbell mounting screws go, these are reinforced to support the screws better.
In the model, there are 4 modification cylinders to maintain the increased support in case you wish to change the sparse infill % to something else.
I've printed this in both PLA (for testing) and ASA (for actual outdoors use).
For ASA, the 25mm brim and higher (25%) sparse infill helps to prevent warping by retaining heat and lowering the heat gradient.
I also found pre-heating the enclosure, a bed temp of 100C for the duration, and additional insulation for the printer itself necessary to minimise any warping.
PLA worked fine first time.
