Description

This is a utility hook that I designed for Rogue Monster Lite squat racks that can be used for all sorts of convenient storage.  It is designed to fit the 5/8" holes in the 11-gauge 3x3 uprights or cross-members of the squat rack and can hold a variety of items and accessories such as:

  • Spot for your hat
  • Keep bands close by
  • Chalk bag
  • Cable machine attachments
  • Carabiners
  • Skinny collars
  • Rack pins
  • Much more…

I designed two different models, one that is round the entire length of the hook and another that is squared off at the hook end.  I have not seen a difference in durability between the two.

I printed these with supports and cleaned them up with an exacto knife afterwards.

I printed the 1” square ones and decided I won’t be using them for two reasons: 1) the part that goes into the rack is 1”, but so is the hook itself. A 1” hook is too thick to hang many things off, it needs to be smaller in diameter. 2) The hook that goes into the rack is shaped so that it won’t easily come out, but it does swing and rattle around a lot because there’s no tension on it once installed. I found a different style that you insert and rotate 90deg and it locks in.

What gauge steel does your uprights use? What rack is it?

You can try the print profile for 1/2 inch holes that I just uploaded. It is sized for 11 gauge steel uprights.

is there any way you can make one to fit for a 3/8 size hole. I have a Cap squat rack and thats the size needed for the peg to fit

What gauge uprights does that rack use? I need that information to make sure the hook sits correctly.

2x2 the description says it has 11 & 12 gauge steel tubing, but im unfamiliar with the sizing, so i dont know if its the base that is 12 guage & uprights 11 ?

@usmcculp - I just uploaded a one-inch hole version. I did a test print, but do not have a rack with one-inch holes to do a fit test. If you want to try it out and let me know if it needs adjustment I am happy to make modification. Check the print profiles for the one labeled "One-Inch Hole Version".

Great design and very useful. Would love to see it wider as well to hold wider objects (like two wooden rings)

Thanks for the feedback. I added a new print profile that is wide enough to hold 2x 1.25" gymnastic rings. Let me know if that is the right size you are looking for.

Sorry to hear that, what rack do you have or what size holes / gauge walls did not fit?
