The dog's head is illuminated using various LED tea lights (dual-LED RGB or a simple electric tea light)
Please do not use tea light candles!
The dog's head can be hung from a screw or nail, or affixed to the wall using double-sided adhesive tape (e.g., Tesa Powerstrip).
When the room is dark and the tea light is switched on, the Ridgeback's wings unfurl and illuminate the wall.
Printing requires substantial support due to the hollow dog's head and overhangs. Remove all support, both internal and external, after printing.
I printed the head in white for optimal illumination, but other filament colors will undoubtedly yield stunning results.
A maximal size version of the Ridgeback head is also available as a print profile for the Bambulab A1.
The various LED holders are glued into the base of the head using super glue or double-sided adhesive tape.
The holders serve only as positioning aids for the tea light to ensure optimal illumination of the angel wings.
Three versions are available:
- Standard LED tea light (e.g., Makersupply, IKEA, or JYSK)
- RGB LED tea light (the one I used, available on Amazon) featuring remote control for dimming and color adjustment.
Dual RGB LED tea light arranged at a 45° angle, maximizing light emission to the left and right.
