Levitating Knife Display Lamp Magnetic Holder

Magic Knife display lamp. 

3D print combined with LEDs and magnets. Easy customizable due to replaceable back panel you can now display your favourite knife or multitool on your desk/shelf and light it up during cold dark evenings. Got bored? You can swap your knife for different one and replace the back to match colours or replace the pattern. 

Model uses short 1m strip of LEDs cut to size and two 22x6mm rubberized magnets.

Please keep in mind that model has to be scaled to proper length for the knife in order to levitate/stand. You can still use it with different models by just attaching them up top. Presented model will fit perfectly for knife of 175mm length.

You could display any other metal magnet of similar length. 

Print lamp with supports for holes, after printing remove supports, install magnets in place. Guide LED strip inside and attach it around the back same as on the picture below:

After attaching print your back plate with your own settings for infill. Use 2 layers on the bottom and 1 layer on top. Use translucent/white or glow pla to let as much light from background as possible. 

In order to replace back panel you need to lift it on the middle and pull out. For installation it will need to be pushed up top, bent on middle and guided to bottom part. 

Presented model is printed in black matt PLA and glow in dark PLA with 6% infill and honeycomb pattern. 

You can print the back blate with 0 top and bottom layers and choose infill as well to create interesting patterns as shown below.
