Similarly to my customizable shelf model, i had a difficult time finding strong customizable hooks for my skadis board so i decided to make my own.

The notable features of this model are:

  • Easily adjust the size of the hook. By adjusting the Diameter of a hook you can easily get the right size hook for your use case.
  • Choose between a square or a circle profile. Easily switch between the different hook profiles while keeping all other customizable properties.
  • Adjust number of pegs on the hook. This was on of the driving features of this design, its difficult to find basic hooks that have multiple pegs, but i generally prefer more pegs for the horizontal stability it adds.
  • Adjust width and thickness of the hook. In addition to increasing the number of pegs, you can easily increase strength by increasing the width and thickness of a hook. As you can see in one of the pictures i have tested a hook with 20kg although i would probably not recommend that in practice.

As always if you have any additional feature request, don't hesitate to reach out!

Additional Thoughts:

  • I would recommend increasing the number of walls in your slicer if you are looking to maximize hook strength
  • When printing a hook with a larger width you will need to use supports. I find when printing in PLA, auto tree supports with a .1 top_z distance works really well.

Explanation of Select Features:

  • hook location: This parameter dictates where the hook is located vertically relative to the base. A hook at the top allows for more support and is therefore stronger. Below is a picture showing the different states.

  • hook diameter: The main size of the hook, bellow is an example of a 25mm hook and a 50mm diameter

  • hook lip height: This will override the default “lip” height on the hook, below is an example of a hook with default lip height vs 20mm

  • hook thickness: Thickness of the main hook arm, below is an example of the difference between the default of 5 and 10mm. This should likely be increased alongside the base depth.

I love these hooks! I was able to use them to hang my tweezers, which are too narrow for most tweezer holders on here due to the locking mechanism. Will likely be printing a couple more hooks to hold some things. Thanks for the great model!

Longer Strong Hook (70mm)
printed this for my wife's board on white Hatchbox PETG using default Bambu Studio strength profile and this thing is strong, and fits perfectly into the holes. I can't imagine anything I would hang on this where I would be worried about the integrity. toward the very end of the print the end of it started to curl up just a little bit, for PETG I would use brims the next time I print this
