Description

Compact Magnetic Stirrer

This is a fun and quick project for your kitchen or hobby lab! I personally use it in the kitchen because it’s just that cool.

The print profile includes two plates. The second plate contains the magnet holder that attaches to the motor. A print pause is set up so that when the printer stops, you can insert the magnet into the part before resuming. This allows the magnet to be fully embedded in the filament—nice and seamless! 😊

If you purchase the parts listed below from Bambulabs that includes a usb cable for powering it up, the total cost is around $17 (and less than 60g of filament). Plus, you'll have an extra motor and four leftover magnets and some small extras for future projects.

For the stir rod, you can use anything magnetic that fits the right size and shape. However, a Teflon-coated stir bar, like the ones used in labs, works even better—and they’re very affordable and very cool.

You can find them on Amazon, such as this set of 10 assorted sizes for about $9 Link here  or simply search for "PTFE stir bar."
