Description

Reusable Air Filter for X1C and P1S 3D Printers

This 3D-printable replacement air filter is designed to make maintenance simple and efficient while delivering high-quality air filtration. It’s compatible with affordable, readily available automotive HEPA charcoal filters, giving you the flexibility to replace filter materials as needed.

Materials:

  • High-temperature filament such as ABS, ASA, or PC

    Bambu Lab ABS-GF (1.75mm, 1kg)

  • Automotive HEPA Cabin Filter Material

  • Activated Carbon Media

Here’s how it works:

  1. Cut a layer of HEPA filter material to fit inside the 3D-printed housing.
  2. Add approximately 70 grams of activated carbon on top to enhance filtration performance.
  3. Secure everything with the 3D-printed lid, which slides snugly into place.

(NOTE: The HEPA material is not required as long as your infill percentage is high enough - This will allow for more airflow)

Additional Features:

  • ~15% More Airflow Surface Area

  • Highly Cost Effective

  • Customizable Top & Bottom Patterns using Infill

  • Directional Arrows

  • Easy Grab “Pig Nose” Grips

  • No Additional Hardware Needed

This reusable design ensures consistent performance and promotes sustainability by minimizing waste; with the added benefit of reducing printer costs. With durable 3D-printed parts and replaceable filter materials, it’s a practical and cost-effective solution for maintaining clean air during printing.

Whether you’re running long print jobs or prioritizing air quality in your workspace, this system provides reliable and easy-to-use filtration to meet your needs.

Since chamber temperatures can exceed 50 degrees Celsius, I recommend printing this in ABS, ASA, PC, or an equivalent fiber-reinforced filament (I used Bambu ABS-GF).

Printing:

Make sure your build plate is clean as the first layer has lots of small intersecting lines
