I printed this for my son as one of my first prints in PLA the tail broke off within a few minutes when he dropped it. I printed another in PETG and the tail broke off again. The bit just before the larger tail section is so small and a single hollow circle. I am new to 3d printing so not sure how to change it but need that small join to be filled in or stronger somehow.
Hello there, if you intend to print this for your son and he may occasionally drop it on the floor, I will recommend increase wall loops to 3 or 4 and increase infill a bit.
Thanks for the info, I printed it again with the wall loops at 4 and infill at 30% seems stronger, Passed a simple drop test. Will see how it holds up. Thanks again.
try removing supports in that area with pliers. worked like a charm with me.
Sometines you need be careful with removing supports. 😕
pressed F 🫡 for the Charmelon.
Printed for my son and the tail broke the first time he dropped it. Maybe just an issue with Charmeleon in general, but worth noting if you are printing for a kid. Unlike others, I found the supports easy to get with pliers.
Thanks for the fast response. I should have been more clear. The print was great and the supports removed easily. My son damaged the end of the tail playing with it. If you print it and don't play with it much it's perfect. The barb at the end of the tail is the weakest part.
