3D printing a model often takes multiple test prints, which uses a lot of time.   Providing a creator with even a small amount of PLA/PETG can help them test and share more helpful models like yours!

Rotating Drain

Optimized 25/9/17

The shape of the supports was readjusted, changing the angled supports to hollow conical shapes with a larger contact surface at the bottom for more stable printing, which also increases printing speed, resulting in shorter printing time. Print time was optimized from the original 2h45min to 1h20min

Optimized 25/6/19

Added holes on the inner sides. After testing, drainage capacity was significantly enhanced. However, this version now has a slight decrease in hair interception efficiency. The prime tower can absorb some imperfections. Please decide whether to enable it in smooth mode

Optimized 25/6/18

Optimized the overflow issue caused by overhangs due to the large angle at the bottom. Now, you can first remove the frame with pliers, then use a utility knife to remove the excess parts at the bottom to get a smooth bottom

Modified the original model, removed redundant parts from the original model, modified supports, and performed multiple print tests for optimization

After support removal, the central part has a diameter of 79mm, compatible with 80mm floor drains

Please note before printing:

Please first observe the rotation direction of your existing floor drain's water flow. Choose which floor drain to print according to the existing direction of water flow generation

The rotation direction of the water flow is irrelevant to your location, because the influence of the water's flushing direction on vortex formation is greater than that of the Coriolis effect

If the rotation direction is incorrect when draining, the rotational effect will be degraded

Printing recommendations:

When actually printing, it is recommended to turn off time-lapse to reduce stringing and improve surface quality

Wishing you smooth sailing on your print — no stringing, no failed prints!
