Will you help me keep creating?

Optimised the already excellent model by Neybao for Bambu printers.

Please delete as appropriate the internal battery supports if not needed.

I have found that the primary failure mode for this model is the screw-down points used to secure the back shell to the internals.  I suggest care on tightening the 4 external (Y0) screws on closure.  I added a smear of superglue (EXTERNALLY) to these screw-down points to reduce the risk of shearing.

To open a Joycon you will need a Y0 security driver.

love the trigger covers on the back of these, way better than other models. I used them in conjunction with the insides and tops of another model.

I've printed a handful of shells find the best, most accurate one. This one is by far the closest to Nintendo.

hi, I tried to print but I can’t get the supports off, what can I do?

Hey, Can’t say for certain what your issue is but I can appreciate the model is delicate and it does make removing tricky on prints like this. Some general advice, you could try picking chunks off with pliers or try heating and the part to make the support softer, just be careful not to warp the shell in the process if you try that. hope that helps. Regards. Gamefox.

I give the design and accuracy of the model a 5/5. A warning to others, with PLA the screws are likely to strip the PLA.

Totally agree with that observation. I’ve had some luck with adding some CA/super glue to those points as reinforcement when using PLA. Hope that helps and thanks for the review!

Missing Model Parts:it’s not exactly the same, so the charging bar doesn’t slide in right, and the screws don’t fit correctly on the backside plates, so I had to change it. still working on getting it to work, but I’ll upload a profile when I’m done. (optimized for see-through PETG)

Thanks for the review. if you’d be kind enough to let me know what is missing and the issues you’ve faced with more specificity. It would be appreciated. BR Gamefox

Yeah, no such luck I’m afraid… if they had clips then they would likely need to be bigger and no longer match size and shape wise. It really isn’t too difficult, you just need the correct screwdrivers and some patience. Have a look at the links I posted in the description. Step by step with photos. :)

Can you elaborate on what changes were made to support your statement "Optimised the already excellent model by Neybao?"

Hi Mr. Parr. The geometry is the same. As far as my view goes, don't fix what isn't broken! As for the print itself, I felt that due to the nature of the fillets and curves on the model, it really requires a fine print layer, otherwise the print texture is just too rough in hand to be considered a viable repair for the controllers. I hope that helps and answers your question. BR Gamefox.

There are a ton of supports and broke the part removing them multiple times. But it worked in the end.
