Train Track Master Set (Brio, Ikea, Hape suitable)
Print Profile(6)

Description
Another Train Track Collection…. But Wait!
There are already many tracks and track sets for the typical wooden train suppliers such as Brio, Hape, Ikea Lillabo etc.
So why did I design my own tracks?
Well, many of the rails already available are based on the designs of wooden rails optimized for machining. These are therefore only suitable for 3D printing to a limited extent.
As I have already tried out several different rails and printed numerous other designs myself, I knew that there was a lot of potential for improvement here!
The tolerances of the connectors often don't fit very well either.
So I sat down to do it myself, because I wanted to have rails that were fun for me and my son and that didn't have any design flaws.
The Model
The Master Collection Track set includes all my Standard Train Tracks - so you have a full set to start with.
All Tracks are also individual available in separate Uploads - see my Track Collection for those individual Models.
Key features
So what makes my rail designs so special?
- All rail profiles were drawn by myself! I started with a blank sheet of paper everywhere. All profiles were carefully measured to find a good middle ground between the different manufacturer tolerances.
- carefully rounded and chamfered the corners and edges so that the rails fit well in the hand
- the designs were created specifically for 3D printing and attention was paid to good printability.
- I have designed the non-symmetrical rails, such as curves and turnouts with double-sided profile! -> This allows them to be turned like the manufacturer's originals. Please follow the instructions below for perfect printing of the overhangs. Since an AMS is required for this technique, there is also a version without double-sided profile - for easier printing and less filament consumption - so everyone can find the right version for them.

Thank you!
Connector Fit
I did a lot of testing so this design uses my V2 Connectors - this Connector is compatible with all track manufacturers I know - If you have any problems feel free to get in touch with me!
Here you can see an example of the fit with Original Brio Tracks:

Support for asymmetrical parts (turnouts, curves)
I use a special technique for the supports that combines different materials. PETG and PLA are used here.
Therefore, an AMS system from Bambulab is necessary to use this technique.
A thin layer of the other material is used between the supports and the rail profile (if printed from PLA, the separating layer is PETG, if printed from PETG, the separating layer is PLA).
Since both materials do not adhere well to each other, easily removable supports and a perfect surface on the rail profile are created (see pictures).
This requires some special settings in Bambu Studio. These are already stored in the print profile! Please use the corresponding profiles here
This is how the Print with PETG as support Layer looks like

There you can See the Top of the Model…

…compared to the Bottom - printed with PETG Support Layer - perfect surface and no typical support issues

How To find the Right Profile:
I provide all High Quality STEP Files, if you want to use your own settings (I recommend to use my provided Profiles) - so you can Choose from the STL List what you want to print.
If you want to use my Profiles (recommended) you can Use the first Profile, if you want to print only the single sided Tracks - they need no support, but you need to Print a Left and a Right Curve.
I provided an extra Profile only for the Bridge, cause I used some special settings here - like dynamic layer height.
I also provided an extra Profile for the double sided, asymetric tracks - like the standard switch or the curves. So you don't need to print right and left Version here. But you will need a AMS if you want to use multi Material Supports!
Print Settings
Recommended Material: PLA / PLA Matte - PETG for the Support
Layer Height: 0,2mm Standard
Wallgenerator: Arachne
Wall Lines: 2
Infill: 15% straigth infill
The Standard Tracks need no Supports. Only double Sided Tracks and The Bridge need Support
See the special Support Settings in the provided Profile and in the Picture Below:

Notes
Please take care of the safety of the parts yourself! The files have no dangerous small parts - the parts are designed to be stable. However, the actual stability depends on your print settings and the filament used.
