Description

A simple 90 degree bracket for mounting 2 nema 17 stepper motors together.

Additional hardware requirements:

  • 4x m3x8 screw
  • 4x m3 washer

I created this for a laser toy for my cat. The intention was mounting it on a shelf and automatically moving the laser on the floor, while I'm not home.

The model is printed on it's side for added strength.

Supports are painted manually, because auto support wanted to waste filament on the 3mm holes.

After printing it I did have to slightly clean the 3mm holes, because I found them a bit tight. They still work just the m3 screws bit into the plastic.

The bottom hole also has supports inside, which are a bit hard to remove, but nothing a pair of tweezers can't handle.

The bottom stepper does not currently have a set screw hole, because I found that adding a layer of tape to the shaft of the stepper was plenty enough for testing. The final version might have one depending on how I mount it.

I printed this model in PLA and it seems strong enough from my testing.
