METAL GEAR SAHELANTHROPUS

My love for the Metal Gear Series has always inspired me to print different Metal Gear models, however I have wanted a true behemoth in my arsenal. 

Standing at 30cm (12") tall and articulate in all the right ways, this is the Metal Gear to surpass all Metal Gears. Inspired by the figures available to buy and modeled on various artworks and photos. 

Sahelanthropus comes with his sheild and nano-fiber sword (sort of)

PLA works fine at 100% and is how i have printed it. The ball joints may come loose over time, so i recommend the bluetack trick for those that have it posed in a certain way. 

I would have liked to get the model without supports but due to the nature of the shapes of the model it does need a fair amount of supports, although i have made everything easily printable, most having one flat side to face the bed. Supports snap right off and there are only a couple of areas you need to be careful.

Use side cutters or small pliers to remove. NO EXTRA HARDWARE NEEDED

Larger peices have been split for easier printing and better looking sides. Pegs and connectors are tight to stop anything comming loose, and arms and legs remain in the pose you place them. The head when printed with the skull requires AMS as does the stand.

The stand is only needed when posing him bent over in firing position due to the physics and balance of the model, however it is cool to keep him stood on in any pose.

This Sahelanthropus is a mark. A mark that Diamond Dogs has left on the world, stopping a crisis and not being forgotten by history.
